About
Why we built ATS Resume Checker in 2026
Most job seekers never find out why their resume was skipped. We built this tool so you can see what an Applicant Tracking System sees before you apply.
Our story
In 2025 and 2026, the volume of resumes going through automated screening quietly crossed a threshold. On an average corporate job posting in the United States, a human recruiter sees fewer than one in four of the resumes that are submitted. The other three sit inside an Applicant Tracking System (ATS), ranked and filtered by rules that candidates almost never get to inspect.
We spent years working on the other side of that fence: configuring Workday req templates, writing Boolean searches in Taleo, tuning Greenhouse scorecards, and reverse-engineering how Lever and iCIMS parse PDF resumes. The patterns were clear. A strong candidate can get filtered out by small, fixable details: a column layout that scrambles tokenization, a job title phrased differently from the posting, a tool name buried in a cover letter.
ATS Resume Checker exists so job seekers can run their resume against the same signals, before they hit submit. It is free, it needs no account, and it deletes your file within sixty seconds.
Our mission
We want to make resume screening legible. That means two things:
- - Scoring that reflects how enterprise ATS parsers actually behave in 2026, not a generic keyword matcher.
- - Suggestions grounded in your own experience, not padded with buzzwords you cannot defend in an interview.
Our scoring rubric is public. The weightings, the parser behavior assumptions, and the privacy posture are all documented on the methodology page. The research we lean on is listed on sources.
Who runs this
Nauman Pathan
Head of Career Research and SEO Systems Architect
Nauman has spent the past decade auditing how resume parsers and search algorithms interpret structured text. His work covers enterprise ATS platforms (Workday, Taleo, Greenhouse, Lever, iCIMS, Jobvite, SmartRecruiters) and the ranking signals that decide which candidates get a human review. He leads research and the scoring rubric for ATS Resume Checker.
How we are funded
The core checker is free and will stay free. We cover costs with a planned Pro plan for people who want unlimited scans and detailed rewrite suggestions. We do not sell resumes, we do not run display ads, and we do not share uploaded files with third parties.
